Demetria Devonne Lovato better known as Demi Lovato born Albuquerque, New Mexico and raised in Dallas.
Big things are expected this year for the 20 year old singer/songwriter / Dancer / Spokesperson / TV personality.
Demi is also know for her acting career where it all began as a child in ‘Barney and Friends‘ moving onto ‘Camp Rock’ in 2008 and many other films and TV programs.
In 2012 Demi was on the American take on the ‘X Factor’ (music talent show) as a judge and mentor, where it’s believed she had a healthy salary of $1 million and rumor has it she will be back on the show later this year.
After signing to ‘Hollywood Records’ in 2008 she released her debut album co-written by Jonas Brothers ‘Don’t Forget’, ‘Here We Go Again’ in 2009 and ‘Unbroken’ in 2011.
Here’s the exciting bit, due for release approx May 20th 2013 is her long awaited brand new album self titled ‘Demi’ featuring the hit single ‘Heart Attack’.
It hasn’t been an easy ride for Demi growing up. During an interview on the ‘Ellen DeGeneres show’ in the US she spoke out about her difficult times in school, where she was severely bullied. Suffering serious depression and low self-esteem coupled with an eating disorder. Battling with all of that, she ended up having home-schooling and through this she gained her diploma in 2009.
Pulling away from her demons and moving on, she became a spokesperson for an anti-bullying organization called ‘Pacer’ and speaks out against bullying and it’s effects on life.
Celebrating her 21st birthday this year, it seems that it’s going to be a great year where so many things are planned for her. Her 2013 UK tour will most certainly be a sell out watch this space.
