Artist Of The Month Review :: Demi Louise ‘Ruins’

Artist Of The Month ‘DEMI LOUISE’.

This month we bring you the absolutely amazing ‘Demi Louise’ from Melbourne Australia.

Demi isn’t new to us, we’ve loved everything she’s done for the last few years. Her covers of ‘Sweet About Me’ originally by ‘Gabriella Cilmi’ in 2012 to her outstanding Lorde ‘Royals’ cover they’re all simply divine. Also check out ‘Stay‘ from her debut EP ‘Songs From My Bedroom‘ right up to her amazing song ‘Ruins’ which reached number 7 in the iTunes Chart.

Lets talk about ‘Ruins’ for a minute, because we love it so much. The video was published in May 2014 and is top quality ( Film (c)The Amadis Project) it really carries you through the story of love and life growing up and embraces the song perfectly. This and the song really shows a maturity in her career and she’s exactly where’s she should be right now.

We encourage you to have a listen to ‘RUINS‘ it is truly is a first class song. If you love ‘Ben Howard‘ then you’ve just found the female version ‘Demi Louise’ we’ve tipped her to be the next big thing and this is why she’s our artist of the month, no question.

We discovered more about Demi during an appeal she made May 2013. She entered a competition to support our very own ‘Gabrielle Aplin‘ in the November of that year and guess what, she did exactly that .

Find our Gabrielle Aplin interview HERE .

Her twitter boasts 49 thousand + followers not including all those over on facebook, Instagram etc so she’s doing something right.

Recently she posted a vlog about her time at ‘Australian Songwriters Association Awards‘ and guess what she won that too. Best Contemporary Pop / Dance song 2014 for a song titled ‘Rivers Run To Red‘ co-wrote with Neil Athale and Joe Killington on the APRA #SongHub in London.

So as you can see it’s all been going on for this young lady not to mention her opening for ‘Kodaline’ July this year in Dublin, oh did we mention she’s toured South Korea, Malaysia, America, UK and Ireland. In 2015 she’s going to be performing at the ever popular and huge festival in Austin Texas ‘South by Southwest, better known as SXSW.

It’s definitely full steam ahead for her and maybe one day we’ll be lucky enough to feature an interview with the delightful ‘Demi’ so watch this space.
